Romeo & Juliet
by Paul Saulnier - Monday, December 2, 2002
Rehearsals for this year's Shakespearian production, Romeo & Juliet, were held on the weekend. With Sarah Black as Juliet, and Chris Kierstead as Romeo, and a talented cast and crew, this year's production is bound to be a hit. For Mrs. Hooton, who is directing the play, the work with the students is inspirational.
"It's really interesting to work with high school kids. No matter how tired I am coming to rehearsal, I am pumped up when I leave."
For her, it is an opportunity to fulfill her long-standing passion for the theatre as she notes saying, "To have an opportunity to do this is a dream come true. I was a student there 25 years ago. I always thought it would be great fun to come back." We have prepared a Photo Gallery of pictures from the dress rehearsal and practices, showing the elaborate set and costuming that will ensure a great atmosphere and performance for this year's masterpiece of a play.
