We are deeply saddened and shocked to note the passing of Private David Robert Greenslade, a 2004 graduate of Saint John High School.

David, aged 20, was serving in Afghanistan, He was based out of CFB Gagetown, and part of the 2nd Battalion Royal Canadian Regiment. He died with 5 other soldiers on Sunday, April 8th when their armoured vehicle that he was driving struck a roadside bomb west of Kandahar City, said military officials.

In high school, David was well-liked with many friends, and an avid golfer. His passion for the armed forces and our nation's military history was very evident in his yearbook graduation writeup with a warm reference to Vimy Ridge and "Go Army" as the last two words.

We send our condolences to the family and friends of David. You are in our thoughts.
