Class of '87 Twenty Year Reunion - A Great Success
by Chrissy Hansen - Sunday, July 29, 2007
The class of '87 held their 20th reunion on the weekend of July 20 -22. Friday night, we started at the SJHS cafeteria with a meet and greet with over 80 members of the class attended this event. People came from as far away as Syria, California, British Columbia, Georgia and Virginia.
On Saturday, all families were invited to spend the afternoon together. There was kayaking, canoeing, swimming, a water trampoline, a scavenger hunt and several games organized for the children. Judging from the smiles on the kids' faces when they were leaving with their prizes, a good time was had by all. In fact, we have even received an email requesting that family day happen every year!! Saturday night consisted of a BBQ put on by the Y's Men and a lot of dancing at the Glen Carpenter Centre. It was great to hear the songs from the 80's and if the DJ didn't have it, we just sang it ourselves.
The last event was breakfast at the Saint John Alehouse Sunday morning. It was a great way to say our goodbyes and talk about the laughs that were had on the weekend. If you didn't make it this year, don't worry - the Twenty Fifth is just 5 years away!!
