Faculty & Friends present "Little Shop of Horrors"
by Ms Tracy Lutz - Saturday, December 1, 2007
Saint John High School faculty and friends take to the stage this coming weekend to perform the teacher musical Little Shop of Horrors.
Little Shop of Horrors tells the tale of what happens when a kind but not very bright Seymour (played by vice-principal Bill Finley) becomes the caretaker of a 'strange and unusual plant.' Soon the plant - named Audrey II - demands feedings of a special formula: blood! Orin the dentist (played by Mr. McKim), Mushnik, the flower-shop owner and adopted father of Seymour (played by Mr. Mahaffy) and Audrey, the good-natured and often bruised love of Seymour's life (played by Mrs. Gallagher) become the unfortunate victims of the ominous, ever-growing plant. Come out this weekend to witness the terror as Audrey II begins its plan for world conquest.
The cast and crews have been working hard the past weeks to perfect the harmonies, find just the right costumes and set the perfect stage for the teachers' performance. The show runs from Thursday, November 29 to Saturday, December 1. Curtain time is 8:00 PM.
Tickets, which are only $7.00, are on sale every lunch hour and will also be available at the door. All proceeds will go toward a scholarship to be awarded at the 2008 graduation ceremony.
