Science 9 goes to Hammond River Watershed!
by Mrs. Mary Savoie - Friday, October 3, 2008
Mrs. Savoie's and Miss Melvin's Science 9 class enjoyed a beautiful morning at Hammond River with …… the cows! The trip consisted of various activities. We got down, dirty and wet!
Macrobentic invertebrates (insects) we collected at three sites along Hammond River. This did not happen without incident. A few SJHS students fell into the river during the collection of bugs. Water samples were taken and vegetation was observed.
When the morning was done, and we headed back to SJHS in the big yellow bus, the grade 9's rested and dreamed of the lab work ahead of them!
