CSLC Was Hot To Go

by Rob Alexander - Tuesday, October 7, 2008

After a week of workshops, inspirational speakers, teambuilding activities and most importantly, cheering the SRC exec members have returned from the Canadian Student Leadership Conference in Summerside, P.E.I. with a wealth of knowledge and a profound sense of school spirit to share with SJHS.

Over 1000 student delegates and advisors from across the country attended the event hosted by Three Oaks Senior High and the experience was truly beneficial and rewarding to all who attended the conference. Both students and teachers as well as Politicians and organizers are looking forward to the future as they feel the fate of country is in good hands!

The speakers were an incredible addition to the conference and included inspirational speaker, Mark Scharenbroich, social activist Dr. Ruben "Hurricane" Carter, environmentalist Lisa Glithero, co-founder of the Free the Children Organization, Marc Kielburger, and motivational comedian Ian Tyson, all of whom contributed their great wisdom and experiences to the group.

In short, the life lessons, great friends and motivation acquired from the conference was incredible and Rob, Sarah, and Tori can't wait to share it all with everyone!
