SJHS Grad Earns the Opportunity of a Lifetime

by Karissa Donkin - Wednesday, March 23, 2005

Former Greyhound Tori Marr is really making a name for herself. The graduate of 2004 has recently got an opportunity to possibly live out her dreams.

Tori entered the "Live Your Life" contest on the American Eagle Outfitters website, and was lucky enough to make it all the way into the Top 30. Tori is one of only two Canadian finalists, the only one from the Maritimes.

The contest was a challenge to young people to write in with their short essays on how they want to inspire and change the world. Out of the Top 30, 12 will travel to the main AE office and from there as many as six will be awarded $25,000 to live out their dreams. The prize also includes recognition in various American Eagle outlet stores around Canada and the US, as well as on the American Eagle website.

The best part about this all is YOU can help her win! All you have to do is go to and click "Vote" on the navigation bar under the contest banner. Look for her name and click it to read her essay, then you click vote! Make sure you only vote ONCE! It only takes a few seconds to do it, and you're helping out a SJHS alumnus! Plus, if you vote you will have access to a free, printable 10% off coupon that can be used at any American Eagle store.

The contest closes on March. 28th, so be sure to get your vote in soon!
