2008-09 Yearbook on sale soon!
by Ms Susanne Sutton - Friday, October 17, 2008
Saint John High School's awarding-winning yearbook for the academic year 2008-2009 can be ordered in homerooms on October 22, 23 and 24. The prices will be the same as last year: $40, $42 for personalized. Students may pay their homeroom teachers by cash, cheque or post-dated cheque. Students will also have an opportunity to purchase yearbooks in the main hall at the top of the marble steps during a noonhour in mid-November. A table will also be set up during the school bazaar in November so that parents can order yearbooks as Christmas gifts for their students.
Although it seems early to be ordering yearbooks, and they won't be available till June, students should be thinking of their purchases now. The signing party for grade 12's will occur after the grad potluck in June the night before the rest of the population receives their books - a special privilege for the graduating class - and the 9's, 10's and 11's will receive theirs the morning of slideshow; the signing party will follow. Grade 9's, especially, should seriously consider purchasing yearbooks now: many times, in October and November, they don't feel a part of the school or much loyalty to it yet, but by June, they feel differently and wish they'd ordered a book, especially since the yearbook staff makes it a priority to include many photos from all grades. Moms and Dads might consider yearbooks as 'late' Christmas gifts for students who don't feel interested now but may have changed their minds by the end of the year. We order only a small number of extras, which are sold on a 'first come first served' basis, so it's wise to purchase now. You'll be glad you did!
