"We've Got Spirit - Yes, We Do!"
by Mrs. Karen McLean - Sunday, March 8, 2009
It was a fierce battle at Harbour Station on Friday, February 27, 2009. Long-time rivals stared each other down across the icy surface, ready to give all they had, and then some. (Oh, yeah, and there was a hockey game down below, too!)
The Sea Dogs Spirit Game featured local high schools trying to "out-spirit" their competition from other schools. What we might have lost in numbers (due to it being the beginning of March Break), we made up for in enthusiasm! St. Malachy's took home the crown this time, winning both the "most spirit" and the Chuck a Puck Collection Challenge, but the Fan of the Game is a true red-and-grey Hound, and, really, what could be better than having Dan Fox on your side?
Captain Greyhound, a dynamo on skates, also did us proud during the hilarious Mascot Hockey Challenge, skating circles around both Mickey Mouse and SpongeBob Squarepants!
All in all, it was an awesome time, and our school year echoing off the rafters of Harbour Station was something to behold. Well done, Hounds!
