Holland 2010 info meeting

by Ms. Maryanne Lewell - Friday, June 5, 2009

There will be an information session for parents and students interested in the proposed trip to Vimy and Amsterdam in 2010, as part of the Victory in Europe 2010 tour to commemorate the 65th anniversary of the end of the Second World War: Thursday, June 11th, at 7pm in the SJHS mini-theatre.

Sites on the itinerary include: Vimy Ridge Passchendaele and Ypres Bruges Bergen-op-Zoom Amsterdam. Students will be given a soldier's name to represent and research, a former student of SJHS who was killed and is commemorated at these sites of remembrance. This unique tour also includes official ceremonies of remembrance for the Liberation of the Netherlands, at which the Dutch Royal Family will be in attendance.

There will also be student-directed ceremonies of remembrance at the Canadian cemeteries in Holland. Please join us if you're interested in participating in this amazing educational experience.

If you would like further information, see Ms Hartman, Ms Wood or Ms Lewell.
