Greyhounds finish 2nd at NBIAA Track Event

Matt McNeil ran a pair of personal bests en route to winning the junior boys 3000 metre event at the 2009 NBIAA provincial championships at Gagetown on Saturday. He was runner-up in the junior boys 1500 metre run - just 4 seconds shy of the winner.
Caleb Jones broke two records for the senior boys javelin at 64.70m and shot put at 14.51m. John Gormley took first place in both the junior boys shot put and discus. Curtis McMillan took first place in the junior boys long jump. Rachelle McDonald was a triple winner of medals by placing second in the 100m dash, and third in the senior women's long jump and the 200m dash.
Other individual medal winners included Kelsey Duplessis placing second in the 400m hurdles, Bianca Langille placing third in the 400m hurdles, Kelsey Cormier placing third in high jump and Matt Doucette placing 3rd in the 400m dash. The relay teams did very well with the junior girls placing second in both the 4x100m and the 4x400m races. The junior boys placed second in the 4x400m race and the senior girls placed 3rd in the 4x400m relay.
The highlight of the day came at the very end of competition when the senior boys relay team made up of Greg Mytropan, Caleb Jones, Kevin Yoon and Matt Doucette won the 4x100m relay and the 4x400m relay leaving Fredericton in the dust!!
