All 21 IB diploma candidates successful

by Ms Tracy Lutz - Wednesday, July 8, 2009

Twenty-one Saint John High students have been awarded the prestigious International Baccalaureate Diploma. To successfully complete the Diploma programme requirements, students must follow the IB curriculum for all of their courses, take a course called Theory of Knowledge, write a 4000-word extended research essay on a topic of their choice, and complete - through a number of extra-curricular activities in and outside of the school - the Creative, Action and Service component.

Out of a possible 45 points, our highest point totals belong to Conor McCullough who obtained 40 points and Benjamin Knight who obtained 39. And, for the first time in the history of offering IB at SJHS, we have a student who was awarded a Bilingual IB Diploma: Devin O'Brien chose to write his 4000-word research essay in the discipline of History but in the language of French.

View names of all diploma students and a summary of results at the past IB groups page.
