SJHS Captures NBIAA Sr Girls Cross Country Title

The NBIAA Cross Country Championships with over 220 high school runners showed up to Tracadie-Sheila (Oct 18) to vie for top three positions and a chance at the NBIAA team banners.
The Senior Girls team banner went to Saint John High School. Hannah Arsenault of SJHS placed second with a time of 15:26.90. Charly and Laura Bonga placed 7th and 8th respectively. Victoria Leblanc placed 11th while Emilee Hoellwarth rounded out the scoring athletes with a 16th place finish in a field of 51. SJHS beat FHS by 22 points. Fundy High School won the Junior Girls banner.
Brady Graves of Saint John High School captured the junior boys 4km with a time of 13:40.60, beating out competitors Michael Colford of Fredericton High School and Gavin Westbrook of Oromocto High School with times of 13:56.00 and 14:01.90 respectively. The team title went to Fredericton High School. SJHS placed a close second, only 6 points behind FHS.
World Youth Championships team Canada member Josh Shanks captured the senior boys 5km with a blazing fast time of 15:52.60, with Angus MacIntosh of Riverview High School and Pierre Dumouchel of Ecole Samuel de Champlain claiming second and third. Ecole Polyvalente W.-A.-Losier captured the team banner.
