Swim Teams WIN 2013 City & District Titles

The Greyhound swim teams brought home 4 City&District High School swimming championship banners after competition between seven local high schools at the Canada Games Aquatic Center on Saturday Nov 2/13.

Forty Eight SJHS athletes competed in the event and led the combined team scoring with 541 points in 56 contested races. Simonds High placed second with 192 points.

The junior girls team beat their nearest rival Rothesay High 145 to 59 points. Rookie team members Janelle Holt, Isabelle Nickerson and Emilee Hoellwarth won two individual golds each, while also contributing to two relay team victories when they combined efforts with team captain Emily Whitcomb.

The senior girls squad led by captain Riley Higdon defeated KVHS 126 to 76 points. Individual event wins were provided by Riley, Morgan Easton and Gillian Davidson.

The junior boys defeated Simonds High 126-68, and the senior boys also defeated Simonds 144-44. Individual wins by Gregor and Matthew Sullivan, Mitchel Lui and Ryan Wilcox, Sam Dumouchel and Matt White.
