Halloween Market a Hit
by Jeff Warr and Ries Van Beek - Monday, November 3, 2014
Tuesday's Halloween Market held in the SJHS gymnasium was a huge success. Students from Saint John High and St. Malachy's demonstrated true entrepreneurial spirit in running their businesses during morning classes. A huge thank you to Michele Lodge of Enterprise Saint John for partnering with SJHS and STM and assisting with the market.
Visiting judges from Enterprise SJ identified the following businesses as winners of the following categories:
Best Sales Technique - DIL Halloween Treats - Lloyd Mawhinney, Davis Sullivan, Iain Robertson
Best Selling Booth - Pepper Jacks - Jack McCrossin
Best Product - Cozy Cups - Callie Tracy, Brittany Steeves
Most Profitable - Pepper Jacks - Jack McCrossin
Best Overall Business - Travel Tees - Luke Gautreau, Devin Bourgeois, Ethan Griffin
One final note: Students from both high schools were gleaming with pride knowing that over $600 was amassed from business profits for CHAT to the Future- specifically post-secondary savings for Ugandan orphan, Kate Namulindwa.
Great Job everyone.
