Hound Swimmers Silver at 2014 Regionals

The 2014 South-West Regional swimming championship took place at the Simonds High School pool on Saturday November 29th (7am-6pm). Forty SJHS swimmers were part of the 250 athletes from 15 schools that contested the championship. FHS led all schools winning the Girls and Boys divisions. SJHS placed second with the host school Simonds High placing third.

Isabelle Nickerson led all swimmers with victories in the Senior Girls 100 Breast, 100 IM, 200 IM and a second in the 50 breast. Janelle Holt picked up a first in the Junior 100 IM and silvers in the 50 & 100 freestyle. Nicole Macneil was gold in the Junior 100 Fly and silver in the 200 freestyle. Emilee Hoellwarth picked up silver in the Junior 50 & 100 back and bronze in the 50 fly. Katherine Keyes placed third in the junior 200 IM.

Dennis Emerson was second in the junior 100 breast and third in the 50 breast. Zack Lavigne was second in the junior 50 breast and third in the 100 breast. Sam Irvine placed third in the senior 50 fly. Braeden Randell was silver in both the Junior 100 & 200 free. Will Oliver was second in the junior 100 back and third in the 50 back. Mitch Lui placed second in the senior 50 back. Gregor Sullivan placed second in the senior 100 back and third in the 50 back. Davis Sullivan received silver in the Junior 200 IM.

The 2014 NBIAA Provincial Championship will feature over 25 schools at the Canada Games Aquatic Center on Saturday December 13th. Races will begin at 10am and will run until 4pm.
