Visiting Artist Shares Talent with IB Art Class

by Jade Daly - Friday, February 20, 2015

For the past three weeks my IB Art class has had the amazing opportunity to work with the artist Deanna Musgrave. Musgrave is a working artist that is local to Saint John whom works mainly with abstract driven pieces. During her time with our class she has taught us new techniques and pushed us out of our comfort zones.

We were given the opportunity to paint to music and introduced us to many new process driven ways to apply paint such as water marking. We also had the chance to experiment with new materials such as pastes and gels to add texture and layers. This wonderful opportunity has opened our eyes to new approaches to making art and deepened our appreciation of abstract art.
