Open House

by Angie Cameron - Thursday, March 19, 2015

Now that school selections have been completed, we would like to take an opportunity to thank everyone who played a role in putting on our Open House. Our Open House is an opportunity to introduce grade eight students to our school. Despite the nasty weather we had a packed house. It should be noted that most of our Open House is organized by students. Patrick Hickey and Emily Whitcomb did a wonderful job organizing student volunteers and coordinating the event with the faculty. There were close to 200 students involved in Open House making it one of the biggest student activities of the school year. Thank you to all the students who came out to show the grade 8 students what an awesome group of students we have. The faculty and the staff also work hard to show prospective students what Saint John High has to offer. Teachers enjoy the opportunity to see our student leaders in action. It is a great affirmation of all our hard work. Likewise, it is exciting to meet our prospective students and answer questions about the courses we teach. Thank you to all the staff that helped Open House welcome our prospective students. To all the grade eight students and their parents who came to see us, thank you. We know this is an exciting time for you. We hope you have a smooth transition into high school. If you are coming to Saint John High and you have questions please don't hesitate to contact us. The student council can answer your questions on facebook through the Captn Greyhound page. Additionally, our staff emails are listed on our website next to our pictures. Best of luck to the grade eight students and thank you to everyone that helped out at Open House. -SRC
