SJHS hounds ran to two championship banners this past Friday at the NBIAA Championships in Hampton. Over 250 high school runners took part in the NBIAA Cross Country Championships under cloudy skies and sometimes heavy rain. Despite the conditions athletes were very successful in their races and titles were more competitive than ever.

Adam Lambert of Saint John High School won the Gold in the junior boy's 4km race with a time of 15:01.90 leading the junior boys squad to the team Championships win. Congrats to Adam, Will Roderick, Will Oliver, Dennis Emerson, Kenneth McGovern, Colin Niles and Gabe Vincente.

Maggie Oliver lead the Senior Girls team to the win with a gutsy performance and closely followed by Laura Bonga, Shannon Okeefe, Charly Bonga and Emily Atwell. The girls ran through the worst weather of the day battling heavy rain and wind showing just how tough they are!

Junior girls gave a very strong performance placing second by only 4 points. Rookie Alyssa Evans lead the squad in 7th followed by Kathleen Okeefe, Julia Leblanc, Rachel Manning and Lily Coffin. This great team almost pulled off the victory and shows great promise in future years.

Brady Graves of Saint John High School claimed silver with a time of 17:21.10 and the team came second against a very strong FHS squad. Hats off to the gutsy performances of all the senior guys Brady, Tyler Adams, Ryan Evans, Felipe Lamprea, Robert Scott and Fakid Houssain
