Saint John High School held its annual Remembrance Day Ceremony on Tuesday, Nov 10th. Mr. Jim McNiven organized a very moving reflection on the significance of Remembrance Day. Ms. Stacey Wood's, IB Social Studies 10 and Modern History class created a video which paid tribute to the students of SJHS who lost their lives in the 1st and 2nd World Wars and in Afghanistan. The Concert Choir, under the direction of Ms. Gallagher and accompanied by the String Ensemble, under the direction of Ms. Ali Leonard gave a very touching musical tribute.
158 students of Saint John High lost their lives through 2 World Wars and 1 in Afghanistan War. These students who lost their lives were very similar to the students of today. They had friends, they studied, they had a future. It was through their efforts that we are able to live in a peaceful country.
On this Remembrance Day, take two minutes to remember those who fought for our country and honor the sacrifice made for your freedom.
