Salvation Army Kettles
by Poppy Jackson - Monday, December 7, 2015
This year, Saint John High students took on the Salvation Army Kettles all over the city on Friday, November 27th. Over 30 students volunteered their time for two hour shifts between 10:00am and 8:00pm. Volunteers were located at various locations from the West side to the East side, raising money for those in need over the holidays. The Salvation Army is the largest non-governmental direct provider of social services in Canada. Every year during the holiday season, they have kettles set up all over the country so the public can donate whatever funds they can in support of their programs. We were honoured to have the opportunity to help out with such a wonderful cause this year and we hope to continue working with the Salvation Army Kettles program in the years to come.
