Dumplings! Dumplings! And More Dumplings!

by Webstaff - Thursday, February 4, 2016

"Ni hao"!! (Hello) Students in Ms. Jiang's Mandarin class had a great time learning how to make dumplings as they finished up their semester. Ms. Jiang has taught Mandarin at SJHS for 3 years and the students have enjoyed learning the language.

A few fun facts about Mandarin

  • Approx 1 Billion people speak Mandarin
  • Mandarin Chinese does not have an alphabet, it uses symbols.
  • There are over 100,000 Chinese characters recorded, with more being developed all the time.

The dumplings tasted great, and the students were encouraged to share with their friends and school staff.
