Perfect Result for SJHS Chess Players at SJEC Tournament, Again!
by Joe Boyd - Tuesday, March 1, 2016
The District Chess tournament took place on Saturday, and three Saint John High School students duplicated their impressive success of last year by again achieving the best possible result. Just as last year, Amir David and Sam Song each won all of their five games to take first place in the grade 12 and 10 divisions respectively, and Nam Vu came in second in grade 10, losing only one game to Sam. All three of them qualified to participate in the Provincial tournament in Edmundston in April. Last year, Sam Song won both the provincial tournament, and then the national tournament, winning every game along the way. We'll be rooting for all three of them in the upcoming Provincials!
