Grade 12 student spends March Break in Haiti
by Cindy Morgan - Friday, April 1, 2016
Grade 12 student Abigail Morgan spent her March Break serving at the Mission of Grace in Carrries, Haiti. Her compassion for the less privileged and her ability to speak French has helped her to develop special relationships with many of the locals over the last three years as she has made four trips to the same area. Abigail spent her days working in the medical clinic, feeding and cuddling babies in the orphanage, serving food at the soup kitchen, loving the grandmas and grandpas, organizing a special night for 40 teen girls and feeding some of the poorest people in the mountains.
A special thank you to all those SJHS students and their families who donated gift bags for the teen girls and to Dominoes Pizza for providing the pizza that helped to raise funds to purchase beans, rice, sugar, oil, fish , bread etc . to help feed some of the poorest families in the area. You were a blessing to many people! " It is more blessed to give then receive" .
