Down & Derby!

The grade 9 Science classes put their knowledge and skills to the test this year and developed a Kub car that tested variables such as aerodynamics, friction and weight. This is a mandatory component of our Science 10 Motion unit. After building their car, they were able to run it on the track and find out how fast their car can go using Vernier software and photogates. Based on this, they were able to determine what factors contribute to the speed. Of course, it wouldn't be fun if there wasn't a little friendly competition between the students and their cars! As a teacher, this is a fun way to end the year and is a very enjoyable project to watch them work on. On your mark! Get set! GO!
