SJHS Welcomes New Principal

by Webstaff - Tuesday, August 16, 2016

Saint John High School would like to welcome Ms. Lori Wall to the school as our new Principal. She brings to SJHS, a wealth of knowledge and experience and we wish her well as she embarks on her new role.

Upon graduation from SJHS Lori made her way to Acadia University where she completed her BSc. in Physical Education and Biology, graduating in 1985. After a year of supply teaching Ms. Wall headed back to Acadia to complete her BEd with a major in Special Education.

Ms. Wall spent the first 14 years of her teaching career in Northern NB, beginning at Jacquet River School. Being a very small district at the time, she had the opportunity to move around and do various positions. She was an Acting Principal, was seconded by the Federal Government for 2 years to work on a special project before returning to the classroom and teaching in the 9/10 Foundations program at Dalhousie Regional High. During her time in the North she completed her MEd in School Administration at UNB. Her last years there were spent back at Jacquet River School as the VP.

After 14 years in Northern NB it was time to return home to Saint John. Ms. Wall spent 2 years as the VP at Harry Miller Middle School, before taking over as Principal. She has also been Principal of Belleisle Regional High, been seconded to the Department of Education as an Inclusion Facilitator and then Project Manager. Before returning to SJHS she completed a year as Principal of Sussex Regional High School.

Ms. Wall have also been actively involved in coaching at the school, community, provincial and national level for the last 29 years. And has had the privilege to attend the last 3 Canada Summer Games as not only a coach but also as a member of the NB Mission Staff.

"As I begin my new journey at SJHS it is rather ironic how life comes full circle for us. The opportunities that I have had the last 29 years have opened doors that I could have only dreamed of as a student while walking the halls of SJHS so many years ago. I am very much looking forward to my return to SJHS and once again being a Greyhound!"
