Boys & Girls Club of Saint John and SJHS Partnering for Homework Club Once Again

by Tracy Lutz - Sunday, September 11, 2016

Since the fall of 2014, Saint John High School and the Boys & Girls Club of Saint John have worked together to provide a mentoring programme for elementary school students. SJHS students act as mentors / tutors to their elementary school 'buddies,' helping them with homework, playing some games and generally being a friend.

Beginning early in October this year, homework club will happen every Monday and Thursday from 3:45 to about 5:00 in the SJHS cafeteria. Tutors can sign up for one or both of those days. We have a guaranteed 10 elementary students already signed up for both Monday and Thursday and there will likely be more, so we would love to have tutors from last year come out again and we warmly welcome new tutors also.

Any SJHS students who wish to participate as tutors are to collect application forms from Ms. Lutz or from the main office; forms need to be returned to Ms. Lutz's mailbox no later than Friday, 30 September. If you have any questions, please contact Ms. Lutz.
