Field Hockey Girls WIN Provincials!!

by Lindsay French - Sunday, October 30, 2016

No team could ever match the determination and skill of the Saint John High School Field Hockey Team. We dominated our region and came out on top while staying classy as Ms. Wilton would say.

Next would be provincials and we came out of the gate hard! Semi final game vs. Harrison Trimble High School ended with a two nothing win. Advancing to the provincial finals was what we had been working for the entire season and our goal had finally been achieved. We came together as a team and defeated Bernice McNaugton 4-0 with the goal scorers being Julia Murray, Jill Martin x2 and Lindsay French! Mallory Knox also scored but it was taken back on a technicality.

All the girls put in such a hard effort and it paid off. There is nothing better than a gold medal around your neck and a provincial banner in your hand. We would also like to thank our coaches Ms. Wilton, Ms. Leslie and Ms. Desmond for guiding us and motivating us towards the very first Field Hockey provincial title that Saint John High School as ever won! We couldn't have done it without you.
