IB Music Recital Shows a Diverse Range of Musical Talent

by Tracy Lutz - Monday, February 27, 2017

An intimate evening of music was had on stage in the Dennis R. Knibb auditorium Thursday, 23 February. Performance is a crucial component of the IB Music class; as part of their IB assessment, students are recorded performing in front of audiences, with those recordings then being sent to examiners for marking.

Teacher Trish Gallagher and her students presented a wonderful evening of music to display the diverse talents of the class: piano, violin, cello, percussion, guitar, flute and voice performances were all greeted warmly by the appreciative audience. Numbers ranged from Rachmaninoff to Taylor Swift to selections in French and German to a personal quartet composition created by one of the students. It was especially delightful to see students acting as accompanists for one another.

Congratulations go out to Ms. Gallagher and her talented students on a wonderful recital.
