Annual Food Drive
by Maggie Oliver - Friday, May 19, 2017
Throughout the week of May 7th to May 12th Saint John High School students took part in our annual food drive. The food drive began with a community food drive on May 7th when students went out into their neighbourhoods and collected various donations from all over Saint John. Our food drive continued in school as students were asked to bring in items to their A block classes. Ms. Lewell's grade 10 social studies class brought in the most food, while lots of classes also brought in many generous donations. This drive was headed by all of the hard working service clubs in our school including Me to We, Club Hope and Key Club, along with the SRC. All efforts contributed to a very successful week of collecting with close to 50 boxes of canned goods, pastas, baking mixes (just to name a few) as well as a couple boxes of books being donated. All food from the drive will be split between the North End and South End food banks while the books will be donated to Romero House. Thank you to all students, staff, parents and friends of Saint John High School who donated, your thoughtfulness and help with this initiative is greatly appreciated.
