It’s all about the Grads of 2017
With exam week behind us we now turn our full attention to the Graduates of 2017 as they prepare to walk across the stage on June 25th at 2pm.
They have already completed two major events – the Baccalaureate Service at Trinity Church where Grads gathered for their church service on May 28th. This service is led by the Graduates and our school Choir. Graduating students have an opportunity to perform in front of their peers one last time. Others read the scripture and led us in prayer.
The second event, and the one that the Grads look most forward to the most (other than the actual Graduation) is the Grad potluck and release of the yearbook for 2017. Grads get the yearbook after the supper and are the first to see it, sign it and laugh over it. The rest of the school got theirs the day after just before the year end video!
Next Sunday will mark the last official day of public schooling with the Graduation. Before getting to that day however, there are still a few events for the Grads. Tomorrow is the Prom at the Marco Polo Terminal. Grads will walk Water Street from the Market Square area and end up inside the venue for a night of dancing. On Friday they will receive their report card, attend the grad rehearsal and top the day off with a Grad BBQ in the parking lot off of Canterbury.
Sunday we will all gather to honor the Grads of 2017 in the Dennis R. Knibb Auditorium – the ceremony is set to begin at 2pm. No matter how you look at it, it is a busy time for our Grads and their families. We hope that you take the time to enjoy it!
