2017 IB Results Now Available
by Ms. Lutz - Friday, July 7, 2017
Saint John High School had 62 students complete IB exams this past May with the results becoming available July 6. SJHS adds 14 more IB Diploma graduates to its 30-year history with the programme.
In addition to following the IB curriculum for all of their courses, Diploma students have taken an additional course called Theory of Knowledge, they have written a 4000 word extended essay on a topic of their choice, and they have stretched their extra-curricular interests by satisfying the Creativity, Activity and Service component. To obtain a Diploma, students must obtain at least 24 cumulative points out of a possible 45. Tommy Kim achieved SJHS’s highest points total with an extremely impressive 42 points.
Students who wrote IB exams in May can check for their results by going to https://candidates.ibo.org and using the personal code and PIN code they received during exams. Anyone missing those codes may contact Ms. Lutz for help.
The actual IB Diplomas and Certificates will be sent to the school in late August and can be picked up from the main office beginning August 28.
2017 marks 30 years since SJHS graduated its first IB Diploma class. To celebrate, we are inviting all past and present IB participants to come home August 17 to 19 for a reunion. Planned events include a wine & cheese reception, a dinner at Italian by Night and a variety show. Registration forms and details are available on the school’s website.
Congratulations to all IB students for joining a history of IB success at Saint John High!
