2018 Loran Finalist from Saint John High School

We are pleased to announce that Marylise Habiyambere is a National Finalist for the Loran Scholarship. Marylise is among the top 88 of over 5000 applications based on evidence of character, commitment to service in the community and leadership potential. She is one of only 2 students from New Brunswick to reach the Loran Awards finals for this year and the first student from Saint John High School to do so since 2009 (we do have a Loran Scholar from 2003, Matto Mildenburger).
After National selections on Feb 2nd and 3rd, the Loran Scholars Foundation will grant 34 Loran Awards. If not selected as a Loran Scholar, Marylise is eligible to receive a $5000.00 finalist award.
The Loran Award, valued at up to $100,000.00 over 4 years, comprises a $10,000.00 annual stipend a matching tuition waiver (unique to Canada) up to $10,000.00 in funding for summer internships, a week long orientation expedition in Algonquin Park in Ontario, one on one mentorship and participation in the community of past and present scholars.
