Successful Ring Turning Ceremony

by Mr. Barry Harbinson & Ms. Frances Butler - Friday, March 17, 2006

The first annual "Josten's Ring-Turning Ceremony" was held Thursday night, March 16th near the traditional 'marble steps' of SJHS. This reception, open to all grade twelve students with Josten's rings, recognizes the symbolic movement into the next phase of their lives with the turning of the ring from an inward position to proudly showing the world that they are a graduating SJHS student.

Graduates, friends and families enjoyed this opportunity to share memories and future plans. With squares from Titus Bakery and a cake provided by Jillian McGee, our Josten's representative, students and guests were able to "treat" themselves while listening to an excellent trio comprised of Kalen Thomson, Erin Sproule and Ryan Bustin.

Thank you to our sponsor, Josten's, the SJHS Alumni representative, Karen McLean, and to all staff and students who made the evening a big success. Congratulations to the winner of the draw for $100, Fadia Hamdan.
