Musical: "High School"
by Paul Saulnier - Wednesday, May 1, 2002
High School, set in the present day, is the story of a group of teenagers who are obsessed with rock and roll music. When their plans for senior year are upset by the arrival of a new principal bent on toughening up school discipline, they react by various types of rebellion. Rob Williams, the lead singer of the school's hottest band takes his rebellion to extremes, and ends up in hospital, where he is visited by the "Ghosts of Rock 'n' Roll Past."
Music is the main theme of the play, and it is music that finally brings the school together. Although High School is set in 2002, the music ranges from the Beatles to the Mamas and the Papas to Five For Fighting. If you love rock'n'roll, we know you'll love some of these tunes.
