Twenty other high schools qualified through regional swim meets to compete at the Provincial Championship, but from the first race it was a heavy weight scrap between the Greyhounds and the Black Kats.

The halls of Saint John High School were alive with fifteen years of tradition on Friday and Saturday, December 2nd and 3rd, as the annual pancake breakfast, teacher assembly, and Christmas Bazaar got underway. On Friday, teachers donned their reindeer hats and aprons to serve breakfast to hundreds of students, parents and alumni. Once again, the variety-show assembly demonstrated what talent (or not) is found among our illustrious staff!Early Saturday morning, local crafters and artisans enjoyed the warmth and spirit of our school as they set up their wares for the Christmas Bazaar; in fact, the bazaar was so popular that we had to turn away many requests for table rentals! The silent auction, French café, and bake sale (with the popular staff-prepared baked bean dinners) were extremely successful, thanks to staff and students who worked diligently for weeks leading up to the event. The crowd was appreciative of the beautiful, soothing voices of the choir, and children enjoyed a welcome break from the reverie with face painting and activities in the children’s classroom. Once again, the annual SJHS Bazaar was a huge success, with the total amount to support student-council events at well over $9000 and monies still coming in! Saint John High continues to enjoy a strong link to our school community, as evidenced by the number of local businesses who support our silent auction. Thank you to everyone who contributed in one way or another to make all of the events so successful and memorable!
